Sulphur Crested Cockatoo.

This Sulphur Crested Cockatoo was sitting outside off the nest hollow approximately 100 feet from the ground, and was constantly calling for it mate that had flown off.
The Gaint Ghost Gum ( Also known as the Widow Maker) ie hollows are created by fallen branches, is on private property near the Bruce Highway at Caloundra.

This Scrub Turkey was just walking down the street in Indoorpilly, going about His or Her business off upsetting local residents by digging up the yards making Mounds.
At least the are in the area which says that the enviroment is not to bad.

Fresh Sweet Strawberries

If you ever wondered where those Sweet Fresh Strawberries come from well it on the Bribie Island Rd at Ningi.
Without a lie their were about fifty of these contraption in the field, which covered approximately 100 acres.

Propert Folding Caravan

I was at Caloundra beach yesterday and came across this Propert Folding Caravan that dated back too 1952, No bigger than a 6x4 trailer and made from plywood and fibreglass.
And still being used to this day, it was towed all the way from Victoria.

This B-Double was parked on the side of the Warrego Hwy with these beautiful Palm tree. This B-Double is capable of carrying 70metric tonnes and I would estimate these two palms would go close.

Took the shots of this ocean race after it had been out on engine trails.What is it with people with boats that after the load the boat,they have to have a couple off beers before they hit the" ROAD". I would think that when you are towing such an expensive piece of equiptment you would want to have a clear mind.

Came across this 1956 Ford Fairlane two door at a panel shop on the northside of Brisbane it was in for very minor paint repair. I was informed that it has been in the same family since 1956. A true Classic.

Well the first day on the South/East run and I came across this Nissan Skyline parked in this great free parking space.He managed to miss a power pole which is approximately 20 feet to the rear of the vehicle. As you can see no rego plates, as they have been removed by the police, who if they had the numbers could have prevented this incident and this clown would not have been on the road.

This massive structure behind my grandson is the beginnings of the Greenbridge that is to be used by pushcyclist and buses to access the Uni of St Lucia. This is only a small part of the bridge.

This beautiful Old Tug is the Forceful and is still in use to this day, she can be chartered for cruises down the river to the bay. The only sound that could be heard was her steam horn no sound from the massive steam engine and the only smell was from burnt coal. Remember that!

Took our Grandson to a place called Southbank for his birthday, his suggestion well spoted the Old HMAS Diamontina in the river. It has been taken out of drydock so repairs to the drydock can be carried out, The dock gate was leaking so badly that the Diamontina was floating defeats the purpose of a drydock.The Museum trust could not repair the gate because( believe it or not) it was heritage listed.

Had to go to Indoorpilly today and thought we would catch the Moggill Ferry, $1.60 later and we were on the other side of the Brisbane river saved a round trip of at least 30km.And at the price of fuel these days well worth it.As you can see the ferry uses cables to cross the river.

THIS SHOT WAS SUPPLIED BY MARYLOU: Just had a couple of days up in the country. Went to the Maleny Show. It was the Woodworkers Show, the theme was Chainsaw to furniture. A friend of ours got the best design award but the photo I took of his chair came out far too dark.
Anyway here is a pic of the volcanic plugs called the Glass House Mountains, very popular with rock climbers. Only this week-end three or four climbers had to be rescued from one of these mountains. They decided to go for a climb without any ropes and climbing gear.

The is an Old Brisbane cross river ferry, which has been converted to a Houseboat from what I can gather the owner works at various establishment and moved around the Coast.

Came across the owners of the houseboat, who informed me the about six months ago they had the pontoons replaced and that the installers had failed to afix seals too the hatchs and that the pumps were still in their wrappings and had not been installed.Note the inflated floatation bag that has damaged the left side off the houseboat.

This Steel Cat was about to cross the Caloundra Bar however must have thought twice about that manoeuvre and returned to the safety off Pumicestone Passage.Young kids were fishing at the mouth of the passage which is about 400metres from shore.( No luck at catching anything)

This was the vehicle that the Stolen Stationwagon hit, fortunately the female driver was not badly hurt.And as luck would have it the hospital was across the road.

This stolen vehicle was involved in a Hit and Run Ax outside the Gold Coast main hospital, the driver was being pursued by police who pulled out off the chase due to speed. An eye witiness informed me that he had detained the driver who was helping police with their inquiries.The driver was so casual about the Ax that he managed to park the stolen vehicle in a side street 200metres from the Accident and was walking away and changing into another shirt when he was detained.
