Gaint Redback Spider

This is in a Landscape supply yard in underwood. Based on the theme "Redback on the Toilet seat"from the song.The company name is Redback Landscape Supplies. 

Wrong side of the Barrier.

Well the first day on the South/East run and I came across this Nissan Skyline parked in this great free parking space.He managed to miss a power pole which is approximately 20 feet to the rear of the vehicle. As you can see no rego plates, as they have been removed by the police, who if they had the numbers could have prevented this incident and this clown would not have been on the road. 

Naked and enjoying the company.

Another view of the bronze statues, they are outside of the building that was the former headquaters of Lt, General, MacCarthy during WW11.The HQ has been refurbished and his original office still exists today. 

Naked Bronzes outside the GPO in Brisbane,called" Dialogue" and cast in 2004. 

Went to the City and came across the sign at the GPO( General Post office)the original entrance for the horse drawn carts that picked up the mail. 

Great Skill

Energex is doing their annual survey off the main power transmission lines and i came across this crew on my morning run.This pilot hovered in the same spot for approximately 10 minutes before moving on to the next tower. 

How is this for a window seat that all kids wanted when they were going somewhere. 

This massive structure behind my grandson is the beginnings of the Greenbridge that is to be used by pushcyclist and buses to access the Uni of St Lucia. This is only a small part of the bridge. 

The Avenue

This avenue of Bouganvilla run the full lenght of Southbank for approximately 3km, and has taken years to get to this stage.A family going to a picnic at the City beach. 

This is the beach at Southbank, it was created after Expo88 and as you can see is across the river from the city. Thousands of locals and tourist flock to this area every day very popular. 

Another shot of the Forceful, about to tie alongside the HMAS Diamontina at the Maritime Museum at Southbank. 

This beautiful Old Tug is the Forceful and is still in use to this day, she can be chartered for cruises down the river to the bay. The only sound that could be heard was her steam horn no sound from the massive steam engine and the only smell was from burnt coal. Remember that! 

Took our Grandson to a place called Southbank for his birthday, his suggestion well spoted the Old HMAS Diamontina in the river. It has been taken out of drydock so repairs to the drydock can be carried out, The dock gate was leaking so badly that the Diamontina was floating defeats the purpose of a drydock.The Museum trust could not repair the gate because( believe it or not) it was heritage listed. 

Had to go to Indoorpilly today and thought we would catch the Moggill Ferry, $1.60 later and we were on the other side of the Brisbane river saved a round trip of at least 30km.And at the price of fuel these days well worth it.As you can see the ferry uses cables to cross the river. 

What a Beautiful Shot.

THIS SHOT WAS SUPPLIED BY MARYLOU: Just had a couple of days up in the country. Went to the Maleny Show. It was the Woodworkers Show, the theme was Chainsaw to furniture. A friend of ours got the best design award but the photo I took of his chair came out far too dark.
Anyway here is a pic of the volcanic plugs called the Glass House Mountains, very popular with rock climbers. Only this week-end three or four climbers had to be rescued from one of these mountains. They decided to go for a climb without any ropes and climbing gear.
 

Yesterday we went to the Brisbane Broncos game against the Penrith Panthers which the Broncos won by 30points versas 6.This beautiful piece of horse flesh is Buck and everytime the Broncos score he is paraded around the stadium, earned his keep yesterday.

In my travels I tend to come across some strange signs, found this one posted on the side of a car parked on the footpath.Before you scroll down read the sign you will see why. Racq ( Royal Automobile Club of Queensland ) 

Quite nicely parked on the Footpath, I would have hated to have been the driver of this wreck, a sobering warning to all motorist as Easter is approaching.

I was having lunch at Southport in a differant location when this strange looking watercraft can pass at a reasonable rate of knots. Notice anything strange about it!
